A different kind of solitaire foundation
Spider does not send Aces to four separate suit foundations. Instead, build a complete descending sequence from King through Ace within a column. When all thirteen cards form a finished run, the app clears that run automatically. Complete eight runs to clear all 104 cards and win.
Place a lower rank on the next higher rank, such as a seven on an eight. A correctly ordered face-up run can move together. Because this version uses only spades, suit matching is already handled; your attention can stay on uncovering cards, connecting ranks, and preserving space for longer runs.
Use an empty column with a purpose
An empty column can accept any card or legal run. It is useful working room when a buried card blocks a promising sequence. Before filling it, decide whether the new arrangement will reveal a face-down card or join two runs. Keeping an empty column flexible often offers more value than moving a convenient card into it immediately.
For example, moving a short five-to-three run into an empty column may uncover a six that connects two other sequences. Compare that with parking a King that will be difficult to move again. The stronger choice depends on the board, so use the empty column to solve a specific problem.
Prepare before dealing another row
The stock deals one card to each of the ten columns. Every column must contain a card before you can deal that row. New cards can interrupt existing sequences, so check for useful uncovering moves and available joins before drawing. A fresh row changes the puzzle; it is not a substitute for using the moves already available.
A solvable warm-up helps introduce the mode before a full shuffled deal. Hints suggest a possible action and Undo lets you revisit an experiment. The app saves the current board locally. Only one-suit Spider is included in the current collection; two-suit and four-suit versions are not offered.
Common questions
How do I win Spider Solitaire?
Build eight complete face-up runs from King to Ace. Completed runs clear automatically, and all 104 cards must end in those runs to win.
Why can I not deal from the stock?
This version requires every tableau column to contain at least one card before it deals the next row of ten cards. Fill any empty column first.
Does this app have two-suit Spider?
The current mode uses one suit, spades. It does not include two-suit or four-suit Spider.
